The global Science Film Festival (SFF) promotes science literacy through an international selection of films. In collaboration with Goethe Ethiopia and other local partners, SFF wanted to show selected films to the wider Ethiopian youth.
Action
Local screening program concept design in line with the global SFF and Goethe program guidelines. Key stakeholder identification and engagement. Logistical facilitation to screening in public cinema and schools. Evaluation form management. Program documentation and report development.
Result
Twenty-five selected films were screened to the general public in a publicly accessible Cinema and ten schools across Addis Ababa. The program reached over 1,500 Ethiopian youth by addressing key knowledge gaps about the SDG goals and inspiring scientific curiosity. Strict COVID measures were observed throughout the program execution.
